Founded in 1935, Volgograd State Medical University is a high-ranking medical university situated in Volgograd city of Russia. From the very beginning of the MBBS Program, University encourages students to participate in research programs, making full use of medical laboratories, participate in scientific seminars, and share their work through University’s publications.

In 1962, the University started providing medical training to international students. Since 2000, international students are educated in the English medium. Course Duration & University Affiliation
The MBBS Degree in India is equivalent to an MD (Doctor of Medicine) degree in Russia. The total number of years to complete MBBS in Russia is 6 years which includes 1 year of intensive clinical internship to get the degree from a Russian Medical University (internship is a part of the curriculum and cannot be done separately in India or anywhere else).

Admission Criteria for MBBS in Volgograd State Medical University

MBBS In Russia After NExT Exam
Earlier, students who completed their MBBS studies in Volgograd State Medical University and want to practice medicine in India had to qualify for the Medical Council of India Screening Test or FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Examination). However, the screening test is expected to be replaced by the National Exit Test (NExT). NExT will be a common exit exam that would serve as a Licentiate Exam for Indian students, as an entrance test to Post Graduate (PG) medical course and as a screening test of foreign medical graduates. Thus, it will also be a common gateway to attain a license to practice medicine across India.
