Eligibility Criteria for MBBS in Russia
Here are some eligibility criteria that the students have to satisfy for getting MBBS admission. It is very easy for the students to meet up the criteria set up by Russian universities.
- The age of the candidates must be 17 years or more.
- The candidates must have cleared the 10+2 examination and the student must have an aggregate of at least 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and must have English as a compulsory subject if the student is from the General category.
- Reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) students can apply with the 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology; as per the guidelines by the Medical Council of India (MCI) – now NMC.
- As per the requirements of Russian universities, the candidates must qualify for NEET-UG (valid for up to 3 years). It is mandatory for the candidates to have a valid passport to study Medicine in Russia

Duration of MBBS in Russia
The MBBS Degree in India is equivalent to MD (Doctor of Medicine) degree in Russia. The total number of years to complete MBBS in Russia is 6 years which includes 1 year of intensive clinical internship to get the degree from a Russian Medical University (internship is a part of the curriculum and cannot be done separately in India or anywhere else). In 2020, Kazan Federal University has become the 1st medical university in Russia to offer a 5-year MBBS course. The overall expenses of its 6- and 5-years course will be the same. However, the number of seats is limited and admission will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Also, you need to clear the entrance exam for admission in this university.

- 10th and 12th Markshteet (aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology)

MBBS In Russia After NExT Exam
Earlier, students who completed their MBBS studies in Russia and want to practice medicine in India had to qualify for the Medical Council of India Screening Test or FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Examination). However, the screening test is expected to be replaced by the National Exit Test (NExT). NExT will be a common exit exam that would serve as a Licentiate Exam for Indian students, as an entrance test to Post Graduate (PG) medical course and as a screening test of foreign medical graduates. Thus, it will also be a common gateway to attain a license to practice medicine across India.
